Scientists call for 80% carbon reduction

We need you to take action:
Please make your MP aware of the statement by scientists» <http://t.fw-reply.com/info/+29Tczg/A4RDUe/B7ePE9/DGssr/W/campaigns.wwf.org.uk/eactivist/srv/render?NUBUbc&view=GB,en,5,15339,-1,n,n,n>

Top environmental scientists have published an open letter today to the leaders of the main UK political parties stating clearly that we must follow science when setting the carbon reduction targets in the UK Climate Change Bill.

Their message is clear – to avoid the worst impacts of climate change on people, species and habitats, it is vital that we reduce the UK's carbon emissions by at least 80% by 2050, not 60% as the government proposes – a target based on out-of-date science.

The letter, signed by the scientists in their personal capacity, published in today's Guardian, Telegraph, Times and Independent, comes at a crucial time in the political process of the Bill – which is why it's vitally important that MPs are made aware of it.

Send this message to your MP now to demand an effective Climate Change Bill.» <http://t.fw-reply.com/info/+29Tczg/A4RDUe/B7ePE9/DGssr/W/campaigns.wwf.org.uk/eactivist/srv/render?NUBUbc&view=GB,en,5,15339,-1,n,n,n>
